The Energy Efficiency in Industry meeting, organized in cooperation with the Swedish Consulate and Swedish Trade Office Business Sweden, brought together Swedish companies operating in Turkey and Turkish industrialists. The platform, which enabled Swedish companies, the world leader in the field of energy efficiency, and Turkish industrialists to hold bilateral meetings, became an intermediary for the companies of the two countries to develop joint projects. Sweden, which attaches great importance to energy efficiency, organized an event titled Energy Efficiency in Industry in order to share its efforts in this direction with Turkish industry and to contribute to the development of joint projects. In this context, officials from ABB, Atlas Copco, Arlight, Nederman, SKF and Systemair HSK, which operate in Turkey and continue their investments, made presentations about their activities and met with the participating Turkish industrialists. The Consulate General of Sweden and the Swedish Trade Office Business Sweden, which brought together Swedish companies that offer solutions on energy efficiency and stand out with their technologies, and leading Turkish industrial companies and energy efficiency consultancy companies to exchange ideas through one-to-one meetings, heralded the emergence of new collaborations at the end of the meetings and the fact that many companies took action to realize joint projects in the field of energy efficiency.

Consul General Therese Hydén stated that there are more than 150 active Swedish origin companies in Turkey, and that more than 30 Swedish-origin companies offer the products they produce in their own facilities in Turkey to the domestic market and contribute to the
country's economy through exports. According to the information provided by Hydén based on TURKSTAT data, the total trade volume between the two countries, which was at the level of 3.2 billion dollars in 2017, was 2.7 billion dollars in the January-October 2018 period. Stating that the commercial relations between Sweden and Turkey are strong, Hydén stated that the new factory investment of 15 million Euros in Turkey was completed and inaugurated in 2018 by Systemair HSK, which operates in the air conditioning sector, and that the company's production in an area of 10 thousand m2 in Ankara will expand to 18 thousand m2 with the production line investment planned by Arlight, which works in the field of lighting fixtures. Swedish Consul General Therese Hydén also mentioned Sweden's experience in the field of energy efficiency. Stating that Sweden is one of the exemplary countries in the world with its investments and studies in this field, Hydén said, "With the agreement signed in 2016, it is aimed to use energy in Sweden 50% more efficiently in 2030 compared to 2005 levels. Sweden aims to produce 100% renewable energy by 2040."
Business Sweden Deputy Country Manager Özlem Özden stated that the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan aims to reduce Turkey's primary energy consumption by 14% in 2023. Özden stated that the amount of investment for this purpose is approximately 11 billion dollars in the plan, which defines 55 actions in different sectors related to energy efficiency, and said, "In this direction, we have brought together Swedish companies, leading Turkish industrial enterprises and energy efficiency consultancy companies that are highly experienced and competent in energy efficiency.
