- The solar-shaped elevator project designed by thyssenkrupp Elevator for the Riosol Hotel in Gran Canaria was awarded first prize in the "Inclined Elevators" category at Elevator World, one of the most prestigious awards of the sector in the international arena, thanks to the uniqueness of its design and the sharp inclination of the elevators.
- The interesting location of the Riosol Hotel inspired the design of the sloping and sun-shaped elevator to adapt to the mountainside.
- thyssenkrupp Elevator CEO İsmail Polat pointed out that the product, which can be designed as panoramic specifically for demand, can be used in Turkey, especially in tourism regions.

İsmail Polat: The elevator can also be used in tourism regions in Turkey

Pointing out that the award-winning elevator project will give impetus to businesses especially in tourism regions, thyssenkrupp Elevator CEO İsmail Polat said, "We are proud and happy to receive one of the most prestigious awards in the sector. The sun-shaped panoramic elevator attracts great attention especially from tourists in the hotel where it is applied. For this reason, we think that the enterprises operating in our regions that pioneer tourism, especially in Antalya, will be able to offer a unique experience to their guests with this elevator. In Gran Canaria, a hillside lift was implemented due to the hotel's location. In Turkey, vertical or slope elevator applications can also be made depending on the location of the project."
Journey through the sun!

Riosol Hotel, where two panoramic elevators are designed, has a remarkable location. Ramón López-Neira, the architect and designer of the project, points out that the hotel's location, located on a mountain that sits on a rather large solidified lava at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level, was the decisive factor in the design. The designer designed the elevators to be bright sun-shaped and inclined to adapt to the mountainside. In the cabin of both elevators, a collage of light and color was created using stainless steel mesh screens, curved yellow glass and curved lighting systems that filter out the views from inside the cabin. The elevators, which have a capacity of 20 people, offer hotel guests the opportunity to enjoy the city, beach and port views as well as easy access to the different floors of the hotel.
