New factory from Legrand for 5.5 million euros

French giant Legrand Group, which develops products and systems for building, electricity and digital infrastructures, continues its investments in Turkey. Despite the recent economic fluctuations, Legrand has launched its new Inform factory with a budget of 5.5 million Euros and manages its business processes with the aim of increasing its investment in Turkey.

The new factory of Inform, which develops products and systems for building, electrical and digital infrastructures and is part of Legrand, has been implemented with a budget of 5.5 million Euros.

Equipped with the latest technology and located on a total area of 28,500 m2, of which 28,000 m2 is closed, the Form factory distinguishes itself from its competitors with its only company that has all production processes in the UPS sector. The facility, which includes bandaged elements, electronic card typesetting facility isolated from external factors, mechanical production workshop and assembly lines, as well as R&D and Customer Service Center, is managed by a professional team of 300 people who are experts in their fields. In addition to its technology, the new factory, built with the Industry 4.0 approach, hosts environmentally friendly and energy-efficient equipment. Inform's new factory, which contributes to the sustainable world with its high-efficiency transformer, LED lighting, motion and asset sensors, stands out with its power analyzers that can monitor consumption and take action on each distribution board and roof design that allows daylight benefit.

Xerri: We are excited that the investment is a reality

Commenting on the new factory investment, Frederic Xerri, Vice President of Legrand Group in charge of Europe, reminded that the economy contracted with the devaluation of the Turkish Lira in August 2018, but that they made a new investment decision in Turkey as Legrand Group in the same period. Frederic Xerri said that during the peak days of the economic fluctuation, Legrand Group CEO Benoit Coquart announced his investment decision of 5.5 Million Euros during his visit to Turkey, and that they were proud to see this investment become a reality today. Stating that the senior management of Legrand Group is confident in the manpower, creativity and support they give to the Group in Turkey , Xerri stated that Turkey is in an important position for the group.

Xerri: We believe in Turkish people, Turkish workforce

Explaining that they have increased both capacity and quality with the new factory, Xerri said, "We know that we will achieve sustainable quality and efficiency with the production processes we have structured within the framework of Industry 4.0. We anticipate that these expected business results will bring more job opportunities in Legrand Turkey. Evaluating the Group's performance in 2018, Xerri said; "We performed very well in Turkey in 2018. Legrand, which grew by 8.6 percent globally, grew by 40 percent in Turkey in the same period. In 2019, we grew by double digits again in Turkey. It is very difficult for me to comment on 2022 by anticipating the developments in the world and in Turkey, but as Legrand Group, we believe in the Turkish workforce and Turkey."

Legrand Turkey Country Manager Levent Ilgın said that they have tripled their square meters in Turkey on a factory basis in the last two years, "We have doubled our production capacity by fully automating our machine park."

Xerri: The share of the Internet of Things in turnover is increasing

Frederic Xerri said that they will focus on the internet of things from now on; "In 2019, we generated a turnover of 450 million euros from the Internet of Things. We aim to increase this to 1 billion euros in 2020. With the internet of things, remote maintenance and repair of large objects that are not entered behind will be possible."
