"Enerjisa Tufanbeyli Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School", which was built by Sabanci Foundation with the support of Enerjisa Production, was opened. In addition to the provincial and district administrative administrators, senior executives of Enerjisa Production and Sabanci Foundation and members of the press attended the ceremony. The opening of "Enerjisa Tufanbeyli Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School", which was built by Sabanci Foundation in Tufanbeyli district of Adana province with the conditional donation of Enerjisa Production and opened its doors to its students with the 2018 - 2019 academic year, was held with a ceremony held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. The ceremony, which was hosted by Enerjisa Production Thermal Power Plants Deputy General Manager İhsan Erbil Bayçöl and Sabanci Foundation General Manager Nevgül Bilsel Safkan, was attended by Adana Governor Mahmut Demirtaş, Provincial Director of National Education Veysel Durgun, Tufanbeyli District Governor Ferhat Atar, Tufanbeyli Mayor Remzi Ergü and District Director of National Education Selim Yaşar Kalkan.
İhsan Erbil Bayçöl, Deputy General Manager of Enerjisa Generation in charge of Thermal Power Plants, said at the opening ceremony, "As Turkey's leading energy generation company, we have been producing energy for a better future by respecting life for many years. Supporting the education of our young people, enabling them to improve our country in every field and supporting social development is an important part of our company mission. We supported this school project so that our young people receive education with the best conditions and practices in the technical field. Students who receive education here will join us as technicians or engineers in the future and contribute to the development of producing Turkey. In this sense, like my thousands of Enerjisa Production teammates I work with, I am very excited and happy. I wish that our school will be beneficial to the people of Tufanbeyli." Speaking at the ceremony, Nevgül Bilsel Safkan, General Manager of Sabanci Foundation, said, "Adana is a very important city for both the Sabanci family and the Sabanci Foundation. Our foundation was founded in these lands 44 years ago. Since our establishment, we have been working unremittingly to 'share what we have gained from these lands with the people of this land'. As Sabanci Foundation, it operates with the aim of contributing to social development; With the belief that education is indispensable in ensuring social development, we develop solutions by following the needs in the field of education. To date, we have provided more than 45 thousand scholarships to ensure that young people are not left out of education due to financial impossibilities. By building schools, dormitories and libraries, we have brought a total of 73 educational institutions to different regions of Turkey. Today, we are happy to open Enerjisa Tufanbeyli Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and add a new one to our permanent works. I hope that the education they will receive here will bring all students closer to their goals, contribute to them becoming individuals who take responsibility and produce innovative solutions, and prepare them especially for business life and higher education in the best way." In his speech, Adana Governor Mahmut Demirtaş said, "I wish that our school will be beneficial to our Tufanbeyli district and I hope that many generations will be raised in this new
education home that will serve our homeland and our nation. We are all aware of the Sabancı family's contribution to Adana's industry, business world and employment, as well as its activities that touch its educational, cultural and social life. I believe that our compatriots living in Tufanbeyli will not remain indifferent to these huge investments made by Enerjisa Production and will protect all the projects that change the face of Tufanbeyli until the end." After the ribbon cutting ceremony held after the opening speeches, the guests toured the school accompanied by the school principal Hidayet Çavuşoğlu. They were informed about the school capacity, technical training laboratories and the training program. Enerjisa Tufanbeyli Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School: The foundation of the school, which was supported by Turkey's leading energy generation company Enerjisa Generation and built by Sabanci Foundation, was laid in 2016 on the land donated by the Governorship of Adana. The school, which is built on a total area of 17 thousand m2, has a closed area of 6,300 m2, has 12 classrooms and a capacity of 408 students. The school will provide training in the fields of Electrical - Electronics Technology and Metal Technology. The school, which has workshops, laboratories, a library, a multi-purpose hall for 100 people and a basketball court, will support the physical, social and cultural development of students as well as their professional development.
