A Turk will save the world from the burden of ice
In addition to Turkey, ice loads that damage power lines and cause long-term power cuts in countries such as Northern Europe, China and Russia will not be a problem thanks to the invention of a Turkish student. Burhan Aslan's project "Glacial Kit Device" from Kocaeli University will be able to provide millions of dollars of exports to Turkey when it is implemented. The results of the SEDAŞ Project Idea Competition, which has been held continuously for four years by SEDAŞ, which serves a population of 3.5 million and 1.7 million electricity users in the Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bolu and Düzce regions, and which has now become traditional, have been announced. In the competition where a total of 60 applications were made, the 10 projects that passed the preliminary evaluation and made it to the finals were evaluated by a jury consisting of academicians and SEDAŞ managers from Sakarya University, Kocaeli University, Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Düzce University, Gebze Technical University and Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. Burhan Arslan from Kocaeli University came in first, Ahmet Emre Cangür and Muhammet Demirkıran came second from Düzce University and Merve Karaşahin and Haluk Burak Kılıç from Abant İzzet Baysal University came in third with the project they prepared together. Honorable mentions were given to 7 projects that could not enter the top three ranks. The "Glacier Kit Device" presented by Burhan Arslan from Kocaeli University, who received the first prize from SEDAŞ Executive Vice President Jan Roszka, will prevent the snow accumulated in the electricity distribution lines and the power cuts caused by the ice in the regions where the winter is difficult. Within the scope of the project, which is a first in the world, the devices placed on the energy poles will allow cleaning the ice with laser technology. If this device is implemented, a million-dollar export is expected to take place. " from .
