Izmir Region Energy Forum is Held on 16-17 November

Izmir Region Energy Forum, organized for the fifth time this year by the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) Izmir Branch, is being held at Izmir Architecture Center on 16-17 November 2018. In the event, which is open to the participation of everyone concerned and free of charge, solar energy applications, energy efficiency and energy cooperative issues will come to the fore on rooftops and the environmental impacts of energy production will be evaluated. Izmir Region Energy Forum, organized by EMO Izmir Branch to evaluate energy potential, production problems and regional reflections of energy policies, is being held on November 16-17 at Izmir Architecture Center. In addition to the Izmir branches of the Chamber of Environmental Engineers, the Chamber of Civil Engineers, the Chamber of Mining Engineers, the Chamber of Architects, the Chamber of Urban Planners and the Chamber of Agricultural Engineers affiliated toTMMOB, Izmir Bar Association, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, Izmir Development Agency, TEİAŞ Western Anatolia Freight Dispatch Operations Directorate, GDZ Electricity Distribution Inc., ESHOT, Metro Inc., The event, organized with the support of Aliağa Organized Industrial Zone, Kemalpaşa Organized Industrial Zone and Aegean Free Zone, will start with the opening ceremony on Friday, November 16. Mahir Ulutaş, who will attend the opening session to be held after the ceremony as an invited speaker, will evaluate the changes in energy policies around the world and their reflections on our country. Following Ulutaş's presentation, the first session titled "Energy Outlook" will be held. Sadettin Güldar's "Izmir Electric Energy Outlook", Ülfet Türkmen's "Izmir Distribution Network Master Plan Studies", Murat Çelik will give information about the Paris Climate Agreement and carbon markets in the session where he will make presentations titled "Izmir Renewable Energy Outlook". In the second session titled "Solar Energy Applications" on Solar Energy on Roofs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müjde Altın will take part in her presentations titled "Solar and Photovoltaic Components as Energy Source for Izmir" and Mümtaz Ayça will take part with her presentations titled "GES Applications on Roofs". In the session where Ersel Tanrıöver will evaluate the issue in terms of zoning applications and local administrations, Att. Arsin Demir will give information about the legal situation. Efficiency in Public Transportation In the third session titled "Urban Electric Public Transportation", representatives of two institutions affiliated to the Metropolitan Municipality operating in the field of community transportation in Izmir will take part. Hakan Üzkat from ESHOT, which provides service with electric buses, will participate in the session with his presentation titled "Zero Emission Public Transportation Project", while Ufuk Karagüney from İzmir Metro AŞ, which undertakes the operation of metro and tramway, will share his experiences. Energy Efficiency in Buildings In the fourth session titled "Energy Efficiency in Buildings", which will be held for the first time on Saturday, November 17 within the scope of the Forum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yıldız "Energy Efficiency and Low Energy Building Concepts", Dr. While Ayça Tokuç will take part in her papers titled "The Effect of the Use of Thermal Mass in Reducing Building Cooling Energy" and Ahunur Aşıkoğlu will take part in her papers titled "Passive Retrofit Applications and Simulation to Reduce the Annual Energy Requirement in an Existing Building", Dr. Fikret Okutucu will make his presentations titled "Energy Efficient Building Through Earthquake Safe Building" and Hasan Alınç will make his presentation titled "Holistic View of Urban Transformation". In the fifth session titled "Energy Cooperatives and Agriculture", Gözde Ayanoğlu from the Ministry of Trade will give information about the legislation, while Seferihisar Mayor Tunç Soyer will give a presentation titled "Local Administrations and Energy Cooperative" and Ercan Sarıkaya from Kayseri Mobilyacılar Sitesi Energy Cooperative will take part in his presentations in which he will share his experiences. In the session, Mahmut Nedim Barış "The Effects of Geothermal Applications on Agriculture in Aydın Province", M. Salih Ertan will make his presentations titled "Biomass". Environmental Impacts The last session of the event will be held under the title of "Energy Facilities and Environment". M. Faruk İşgenç "Energy Management in Wastewater Treatment Plants", Hasan Sarptaş "Environmental Impacts of Izmir Province Energy Facilities", Orhan Gündüz "Environmental Impacts of Geothermal Energy Facilities", E. Olcay Işın "Biogas Potential and Biogas Energy Investments in Izmir" and Prof. Dr. Nuri Azbar will participate in this session with his presentations titled "Energy Production from Waste".
