"2 MILLION ACCIDENT-FREE HOURS" AT AKSA ENERGY'S GHANA POWER PLANT
Operating in 5 countries on 2 continents, Aksa Energy achieved a great success in the first days of 2019. Aksa Energy, which has designed its Occupational Health and Safety policies according to international standards, has reached its target of "2 million man-hours accident-free" at the Ghana Fuel Oil Power Plant as of the end of December 2018. Aksa Energy is taking firm steps towards its goal of "5 millionman hours without accidents". Turkey's global energy company Aksa Energy announced that it has reached 2 million hours of its "5 million man hours of accident-free work" target set in February 2018 as of the end of December 2018. In February 2018, Aksa Energy achieved its goal of "1 million man-hours of accident-free operation" at the Ghana Fuel Oil Power Plant in Africa.Aksa Energy's success proved that they are taking firm steps towards the goal of "5 million men working hours without accidents".
Murat Çaptuğ, Operation and Maintenance Coordinator of Aksa Energy West African Power Plants, said the following about the success of "2 million man hours of accident-free work" achieved within the scope of Occupational Health and Safety:
"We are not satisfied with fulfilling national and international obligations for the manpower we employ in all our activities to work in healthy and safe environments, but we adopt a management approach that is committed to continuous improvement with monthly monitoring and measurement performances. One of the improvements made in this sense was the increase of Occupational Health and Safety trainings given in 2018 by 67 percent compared to the previous year. We aim to become one of the leading power plants in the sector by bringing the Occupational Health and Safety culture to higher levels both in our own employees and local employees." AksaEnerji carries out high-level studies to ensure the safety of its employees and to prevent profession-related diseases with the value and respect it attaches to people and the environment and its activities in the field of Occupational Health and Safety. In order to achieve this goal at the Ghana Power Plant, Aksa Energy will continue its effective Occupational Health and Safety activities in 2019 without interruption.
